We're boutique, passionate, entrepreneurial and nomadic. We run a small botanical farm that produces for our skincare formulation lab. This connects us to our customers and to nature, where we gain the knowledge and insight needed to source, qualify and buy botanicals from our farmers at scale.
This is already pretty different. But there is more...
Kimmi Farms combines its proprietary machine learning algorithm that our mad-data scientists (way smarter than I am) use to translate and interpret conveyed human data into customized skin care products using our interpretive methodology and botanica-formulations. I have no idea what this means either.
Our customers start by completing this really cool skin analysis questionnaire, which includes pH testing, sensitivity analysis, moisture level rating, scent preferences, among others personalized human data. These data are shared via Kimmi Farms' Lab, where a personalized serum baseline is established. Think like the tree bears...we want our products to fit you just right.
Since you and I have gone to such lengths to personalize formulations just for you, it just makes sense we make it easy to re-order. Right? So, Our CFO recommends that you sign up for a quarterly (four times a year) subscription care programs. But I have to say, as a subscriber, you do benefit from seasonal adjustments to manage life changes and environmental conditions to adjust pH levels, oil volume, absorption rates, etc., to ensure it’s still, all about you. So, because this is a cool benefit, my CFO and I are aligned. This time.
Looking toward the Future
Post COVID-19, when we have more normal, we would like to launch retail Kimella Farms™ - Skincare Shop and Lab, to be located in shopping malls, lifestyle centers and resorts worldwide, beginning in 2022. We think, and certainly hope, this angry Pandemic will be past us by then. Until then, it's e-commerce baby!
This isn't some "scarcity" message. It's real. I only have so many farmers and so much product and can only work so.many hours. This means we are generally back-logged, with subscriptions getting the first release and then new customers next, on a queued-up, first come-first-served schedule. Sorry. But we are working on increasing production, because the CFO says we need to, to service more and more subscribers.
